Crossing North on hiatus - April 8, 2010

Crossing North will be taking a break from performing beginning July 2010 so Jen can concentrate on "What Matters Most". She's a proud mother to baby Jasper, born last October, and she's going to concentrate on parenting.

Song selected for airplay - February 2, 2010

The fine folks at "Women of Substance" Radio have taken a liking to our music. They had already chosen two of our songs for airplay on their web-radio, and then they asked for submissions for love songs for their Feb Valentines show. We submitted "Shades of Green" from our newest CD, and sure enough they liked it and put it on the playlist. Here's a link...http://www.live365.com/stations/breenoble

Welcome Jasper - October 26, 2009

Just want to let you know that Jasper Carter-Kelly was born on October 21. Both Jen and Jasper are doing fine, healthy as can be. Jen is trying to catch up on sleep.

"No Time to Rest" - September 10, 2009

Crossing North's third CD "No Time to Rest" has been released.

We worked hard on this CD, taking time to make something we'd be proud of. Most of the recording was done last winter at the studios of North Country Public Radio in Canton, NY. Engineer Joel Hurd sure knows what he's doing, and was a pleasure to work with. In addition, NCPR had recently rebuilt their studios and did a spectacular job. We really enjoyed their hospitality.

Just as we were finishing things up, Jen came up with "Just One Kiss", a new song that we had to include. So we trundled off to Skip Smithson's "Addition Studio" in Keeseville, NY and got a real clean sound.

We added fiddle (Gretchen Koehler) and mando (Skip Smithson) on several of our tunes.
On other songs, we kept it simple. Bruce added bass where we thought it was a good fit.

So...it's kind of like our first two CD's, "Late Night Songs" and "Fragile", but kind of different too. It looks forward, then steps back. We think it reflects our attitude of "No Time to Rest". You can listen to a few tracks by going to our "Music" page.

Let us know what you think. We'd love to hear from you.

North Branch Bluegrass Festival - September 9, 2009

We put a few pics on our "Photo Gallery" page from our recent trip to North Branch Bluegrass Festival. Thanks to Randy and Heather Kennedy for all they do to make this a spectacular event. The weather was perfect, the scenery stunning, and the hospitality couldn't be better.

Jen takes a leave of absence - August 29, 2009

Anyone who's seen us perform this summer can see for themselves that Jen has a maternity event in her future.

We'll take a break from performing while Jen enjoys a leave of absence. She's due in late October, and we'll be sure to report all the news right here as soon as it happens.

We will keep rehearsing, writing new songs, and lining up concerts.....remember, there's "No Time to Rest"!

Schroon Lake - August 29, 2009

We just finished a really fine experience playing at The Boathouse Concert Series in Schroon Lake, NY. What a spectacular setting!

Thanks to The Schroon Lake Arts Council, and to all the folks who came out to hear us. We really appreciate it!
